Rendering Black

All these blinds are the same, but some are rendering black. What would cause it and how can I fix it?

Maybe its going through the glass? (or the glass doesnt have effect all channels in shadow?)
Does the blinds have thickness?

I replaced the material, which worked. I am, not sure what happened; I checked everything.
