  • Strange Material Noise

    What the heck! What would cause this? I can raise my setting to get rid of it, however, my render times skyrocket. Everything else in the scene looks good.

    It's on the far left wall as well. Looks weird. Do you still get it if you switch of the DOF?

    Unrelated, are you sure those light fittings in the ceiling are the correct scale?

      My guess is a mesh light, or a light bouncing off something on to that wall.

        Check your renderpasses to see what causes this. I had it too once. It was in my lighting pass. Never got rid of it though.

          I ended up increasing some subdivs, which mostly cleaned it up. I'll dig deeper today.

            could be reflection cutoff on some material in the scene. see if it goes away with refs disabled. alternatively check the cutoff on the light, although i believe that only affects shadows.
