Hello,
If this is Max 2016 - yes this is on purpose. In Max 2016 and above we use the native Max message dialog. It can be located in the Rendering menu - "Render message window..". Some settings and options are available with a right mouse button click in it or in Customize->Preferences->Rendering

Is there a way to have some items colored like they were in the earlier Log window ? If there is an issue I usually could see it the second it happened. Since the colors are now different it is less convenient.3ds Max 2016/2021 (Vray 6.x), Windows 10 64bit , AMD 2990WX ThreadRipper 32/64 Cores, 128 gigs RAM , 2X RTX3090 48GB RAM

I would like to have the old Vray Log window back. The Max Log doesn't pop up here on render errors with distributed rendering!
And I want to see what is happening, during rendering! The old one was just cleaner, with the max one I have the feeling that it is very disturbing for me, You have to make it really big to read the hole line and the colors .....
One thing is very important for me, that I see if the rendernodes response, or when I start them later (during rendering) they will be added to the current render process, I don't want to wait if or if not the buckets appear!
So, please bring back the vray log!!!!Last edited by DKVISION; 22-12-2015, 09:40 AM.

I second DKVISION's request - this is SO irritating ! The new window cannot be opened once the render had started and the text is very confusing within the regular 3ds max render mumbo jumbo.. The text color is hard to read unless you get really close to it. PLEASE add an option to use the old Log Window

The orange against bluey grey with the serif face seems to be making the warnings hard to read.

Yes, please bring back the old Vray message window. Max's native message window is sh*t in terms of readability. I literally have to lean over my monitor to read it.Aleksandar Mitov

Yup, I am also up for getting the old window back. I especially miss the ability to set the verbosity level exactly the way I need to. Sometimes, I don't want to be bothered by it at all, if there's a warning I can not do much about, other times I want to be warned about possible problems without having to manually open the window each time and scout for them. Max's error window is really annoying in this regard. Also, it's very inconsistent in terms of window depth order, if you put Max's window under say slate editor, switch to slate and start rendering, there's no way to see the window without stopping the render, as Max's UI is frozen.
