  • gamma issues after installing 3.3

I think i'm having gamma issues since installing vray 3.3...

it seems that on completion of the render it's applying gamma and washing out/overexposing my scene...

the scene worked fine prior to the install...

my fileInGamma is 2.2 as is fileOutGamma.
colour mapping is set to "colour mapping only"
and gamma in colour mapping is set to 2.2.

it's correct as it is rendering then on completion of the render it's applying something that washes out the shot...?
    am i doing something silly...?

Do you apply any gamma corrections on file save?

      Hi tashko

No this is happening in the frame buffer before save. The minute the render completes it converts to the overexposed/washed-out image.

If I save the file as an exr and set the gamma to either 1 or 2.2 the image is still incorrect...

I posted in the other forum as well and in response to your post there. The issue happens regardless of what answer I give to the message upon opening re new vray settings ie. If I say yes to use the new features or no - I get the same thing happening.

The scene is illuminated by a dome light with HDRI, there is also a vray plane light in the scene as a fill light...

This looks more like a Lens Effect rather than gamma issue.
What is the status of the Lens Effects, are they enabled or not?

          Hi Svetlozar,

yes, this is the issue with the lens effects, i've submitted the scene to support and it's been confirmed. just awaiting a solution as i'm keen as to get onto 3.3... but am half way through a large job that has used the lens effects extensively so not the time to be updating...
