  • RT Max Path setting not terminating renders in 3.3

Heading says it all really. Can anyone else confirm that the 'Max path' setting in Vray RT is not terminating renders correctly? Need to figure out whether this is a local problem or not.

    Cheers

It works correctly. Note that in difference from previous versions, this really is max paths per pixel, and not "maximum number of passes through the image". Previous versions could stop rendering even though some pixels did not reach the specified maximum number of paths per pixel. This could lead to more noisy images compared to the bucket renderer.

Thanks for the quick reply Vlado,

So if I am understanding correctly, the render should still terminate, but only when ALL pixels in the image have reached the Max paths value?

Well, not all pixels necessarily, just the ones that have not reached the specified noise threshold.
