  • Unable to Change V-Ray client license settings on node machine

Trying to setup a new rendernode and installed Max, V-Ray etc etc.

If I start the render server the node picks up the job, but comes up with the error 'Could not obtain a licence (10061)'

I've tried to change the 'Change V-Ray client license settings' to direct the licence to the desktop machine but I am unabe to change the setting o nthe node, and instead get the error 'Could not save settings'

I have 3 free render nodes, as checked on the Licence server information

    What am I doing wrong?

Awaits something ludicrously simple which I've missed

    Sorted this

I couldn't change the setting after the install. So I uninstalled V-Ray (a few times) and re-installed, but on installation go to 'customise' and enter the Licence server information there. All is fine now

For future reference, right-click on the "'Change V-Ray client license settings" shortcut and select "Run as Administrator..." and it should work.

Excellent. It's always the small hurdles that get me.

It could be worth dropping that little nugget into the Help docs if it's not there already...
