directional light - black?

  • directional light - black?

    hello i discovered some strange behaviour:

    i put a vray light into the scene and when i render it it shows the colour of the light but when i enable the directional parameter of it it gets black. any idea why the light behaves like this?

      Yes I remember that thread. So although that is technically the way it works etc, I can't think of any situation where anybody would want the light to look black from an angle.

      A workaround would be to make the light invisible and add a plane behind it with VRayLightMtl.

      But the point is it would be nice to have a tickbox or radio button inside the directional section:
      [X] Artistically Correct
      [ ] Technically Correct

          thx for the explanation of this behaviour! Would be nice to make it behave somehow different, so that it still has the same brightness like with the directional parameter set to zero.
