Hi all,
Recently I've started to play around with some depth of field effects. While it all works I did notice I needed crazy aperture values to achieve the desired effects. I'm using the native Max Physical Camera from 3ds max 2016 and Vray 3.30.03. In one scene for example I have set the focal length at 80mm but to achieve the desired depth of field I need an aperture values of 0,5 which would be crazy in a real life camera. My experience with real cameras tells me a value of 2.8 would be more than enough for a subtle effect. While it is possible to work around this, it does cause some problems in animations, as the exposure time is defined by the need for motion blur, resulting in crazy low ISO numbers. Could it be that I'm forgetting about some setting or is this a known issue?
Thanks!
