  • render speed difference between vray 3.3.03 and 3.35.01 nightly build

ive got a scene that renders in 3 hrs on a single six core 3930k at 4.4 ghz, im using 3.35.01 (nightly)

my client has a renderfarm with 3.3.03, 24 core 2.1 ghz. id imagine that their machines would be significantly faster than mine.. however the renders are at 4 hrs and counting and only 60% done.

are there some major differences between 3.3.03 and 3.35.01? im specifically using the distancetex and transparency...

i doubt i can ask them to put a nightly on their farm, and ive heard people having issues with vfb in 3.3.04

In the "stable" folder on the nightly builds server, you can find a recompile of 3.30.04 with the VFB issues fixed.

Other than that, it depends on what else is in the scene. What is the CPU usage on the farm?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
