  • DR Not connecting host

    I have my dongle on pc 192.168.137.1 (have two network ports, one for internet and one for local network), and i use my laptop 192.168.137.5 ,
    when i render from .....1, pc ....5 connects and render fine;
    but when render from ....5 , ....1 vray log shows me this:

    [2016/Apr/13|14:21:48] dr host: 192.168.137.1:20204
    [2016/Apr/13|14:21:53] warning: Could not connect to host 192.168.137.1:20204: Connection timeout
    [2016/Apr/13|14:21:53] warning: Could not use any of the selected (1) hosts for distributed rendering!
    [2016/Apr/13|14:21:53] warning: Local machine is not used for distributed rendering and no slaves can join! --> i was expecting this, i was not using local pc to exclude it from the render

    what could be the problem?

    192.168.137.1 ---> win7 max2014 vr 3.35.01
    192.168.137.5 ---> win8 max2014 vr 3.35.01

    Hi,

    Please check your firewall or router configuration. You can disable the firewall on 192.168.137.1 just for a test.
    Have you started V-Ray spawner on this machine manually or it is registered as a service?

      Yes, if i disable firewall, DR works fine, How could i add an exception to let vray DR work?, i cant find the proper answer to that on vray documentation.
      Any help?

        Please do the following in order to add a firewall exception for V-Ray spawner on machine 192.168.137.1
        *) Open Windows firewall
        *) Click on Allow an app or feature through Windows firewall from the field on the left
        *) In the next window click on Allow another app... and Browse for the V-Ray spawener exe - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2016\vrayspawner2016.exe - for V-Ray/Max 2016 installed to the default location
        *) Click on Add

        I will see if we can add an option to the installer to do that automatically during the installation process.
