  • No progressive render subsampling after Light Cache

    Hi,

I've notice a minor thing which I am not sure is a bug or an expected behavior. Whenever I start rendering progressive using BF+BF or no GI, first progressive pass is subsampled for faster initial feedback. However, when using light cache, after LC precomp is done, rendering starts without any subsampling, and jumps straight to the spiral tile sequence.

    It's V-Ray 3.30.05 + Max 2016 SP3

Yes, this is on purpose - usually the light cache already provides a rough overview of the scene, so the progressive sampler can just start working on the image.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
