  • Max crashing on render end

I have a scene with a few XREFs in it. I have animated cameras. When I render certain frames, the session of Max crashes when the render completes. Any ideas where I should look to find where the problem is? I'm rendering locally, so no DR issues. The scene uses only around 3GB to render.

    Tried overiding texture. No joy.

Tried moving XREF scenes locally. No joy.

    Tried different camera. No joy.

What should I be looking for in the log files?
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

Further testing suggests rendering anything other than frame 0 will crash at render end. Any ideas?

I'm going to archive the scene and send it to you as I need a fix ASAP with a major animation deadline looming. I'll wetransfer it to your email Vlado - I hope that's OK?

Sorry to push you on this, but I wonder if you have had chance to have look, and if the same problem happens on your systems? We have tried two different machines here with same issue.

The crash happens in MultiTexture_max2016_64.dlt and is related to the update of materials in the Nitrous viewports. I am not sure why the crash happens - I don't have the sources of that plugin. It would be best to contact the author and ask for more information on the crash.

Switching away from Nitrous to DirectX or OpenGL viewports might help.

                Best regards,
                Vlado
