rt gpu, multimatte and vraylights

  • rt gpu, multimatte and vraylights

    ive just spent ..hours.. chopping my scene up by material to avoid the issue with rt gpu not working with multimattes of materials in multisub materials.

    now i discover that vraylights obscure the multimattes, even if set to invisible.. even if hidden with "render hidden lights" enabled.

    so i -still- cant use multimattes with rt gpu.

    this is at the end of a project with everything set up to use rt gpu, and no time to render with vrayadv, and a necessity to use both the vraylights and mutlimatte. so im quite literally stuck.

    dammit!

    any workaround?

    i thought id try vrayobjectselect RE instead.. hey! it doesnt work at all. doesnt even show up in the vfb.. grand.

      so.. vray objectid? shows up in vfb at least. renders pure white.

      im seeing a pattern here.

        vraywirecolour?!

          rendermask? option is in the UI, but doesnt seem to work either.. at least not with objectid.

              In the next SP invisible lights will not block the multimatte render element.

              It will be released soon, but if you need to get a particular job done we can provide build prior to that.

                job is already done!


                i rendered each image twice to get the mattes i needed.
