Weird faceted lighting and reflections in VRay 3.30.05

Hey guys,

I am currently having an issue with version 3.30.05 where reflections and lighting show up with weird faceted angular breaks in them.

If you have any insight into why this is happening and wouldn't mind helping me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have some normal of bump map texture on the surface? Do you get the same problem with the 3.40 builds?

Hi Vlado,

I just upgraded to 3.40 and the issues still persists. The material on the 2nd image with the reflection issue has normal bump applied. I tried both 3dmax and vray normal textures. The first screenshot has no normal/bump involved.

Then I will need a scene to check if it's a bug or if there's a workaround, if you can attach just that portion of the scene or send it to support@chaosgroup.com we'll check what's going on.

Before we do that, is there a way to get an earlier version of VRay? The same scene used to be fine on an older version (unfortunately I don't remember which one) but it also was a different computer so I want to give it a shot.

Yes, you can download the previous version somewhere in the downloads folder. But I have run into the same problem the other day and I just did a workaround and I forgot about it. Vlado, I'm going to see if I can reproduce the issue I had and send it to you guys and take a look at it.
