I had this issue a million times already, I don't think it's Vray related. The only thing that helps is delete the bitmap node and create a new one.

I thought vray HDRI has better filtering and I've read that it might be faster in loading too, but not quite sure. Since Vray HDRI supports real world scale display in viewports I never use a regular bitmap anymore.Architectural and Product Visualization at MITVIZ

another thing i ran across though few times which i never checked was when viewing very large maps with the hdri loader its very blurry compared to the standard bitmap loader which gives near correct results, any reason why?Architectural and Product Visualization at MITVIZ
