  • Global Illumiation with Phoenix

Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong area - I am using Vray with Phoenix FD and can't post in the Phoenix forums.

anyhow - I am doing a simple ident of some planes flying over a styled map, I want to use GI. The planes are leaving a trail of smoke (coloured smoke) and no flame.

I used the animation mode but the smoke was flickery... what is the best way to render smoke when there is GI?

The animation mode was set to very low, 30 subdivs, 20 interp samples and 2 interp frames.

    Any suggestions?

If there's no "roof" or enclosed space around the smoke then just use brute force as your primary engine, it's far less hassle than irmap.

I would recommend using BF as joconnell suggested. Also we have provide you with a posting rights for the Phoenix section of the forum.
