    I'm trying to map a gradient ramp along the hair. The color on the end of the hair is cycling back to a color in the middle of the strand and I'm not sure why.

    I assume you mapped it with hair sampler length along strand?

      No I used a gradient ramp directly. If you use the VrayHairInfoTex you don't need to generate the W coordinate in VrayFur. As far as I know the W checkbox is there so you can use a map besides the HairInfoTex (which is a more recent addition to Vray, as I recall.)

      The problem comes from the rounded ends on the hairs. I also discovered that VrayRT CPU looks the same as normal Vray but the VrayRT GPU clips off the rounded ends so there is no problem with it (assuming you don't want rounded ends).

        As I can recall this is already reported. Which version are you using 3.40? Does it persist with 3.30 ?

          if its gradient map, just turn off tiling.
