  • VrayFur corrupts base geometry of sphere

I was doing testing with VrayFur and discovered something odd. I'm on 3.40.02 in max 2017.

Make a sphere and then a VrayFur object and then apply the fur to the sphere (if it isn't already).

Go back and adjust the segments of the sphere by cranking them up. The geometry will become shaded strangely and look wrong. Even if you delete the vrayfur or apply it to a different object, the sphere stays in its corrupted state.

I've attached an image showing two spheres in various states of disrepair after I applied the Vrayfur elsewhere.

I made a note in our bug tracking system, we'll look into it.

This is a bug in 3ds Max 2017; you should report it to Autodesk. It happens in several other situations without V-Ray installed at all. Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to prevent it.

      Best regards,
      Vlado
