  • VrayColor2Bump Offset Texture

Hi, i'm using the VrayColor2Bump node. In this particular case i'm gone to 12 in the delta scale to reach the effect that i want but it do a strange thing, it seem like it offset the diffuse texture.

    Here are the 2 images.

    Thanks,

    Alessandro

Very strange... can you post that part of the scene to check what's going on?

    Best regards,

Sry, what you mean with part of the scene ? do you want a bigger crop of the render? or the floor geometry?

      Thanks

The entire scene actually, including the textures etc.

Hi, i asked in the studio and i cannot share the scene for texture's copyright issue....Sry.

I will do some test and tell you whats happen ( rebuild the geometry, changing the unwrap... ). Sry for the problem but the studio where i work signed a non sharing contract for the scene expecally for the floor's textures....cause floor's tiles are the core of the image.

If you got some sudgestion for tests, please tell me. Fore this image i solved it putting the value to 1 and do 2 render one with and without bump so the guys can mix it in postproduction.

Thanks again for the quick support.

Well, I don't really need the whole scene, just that floor object with the texture on it (or another texture that's similar to it but shows the problem).

            Best regards,
            Vlado

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

At the end I still need your scene to see if the problem that I've found is the same as your issue.

I need only the floor geometry and the lighting - you can replace the original image (that's copyrighted) with a checker and leave the whole material/texture setup unchanged.

Hi, sry for the delay...I was really busy and forgot the post.

I try do test with the new release but....now i cannot go above 1 so...nothing to test.

                        Am i wrong?

Now if you need i can give you both max file and texture

                        Thanks. Alessandro

The offset of the diffuse texture is the issue we have fixed. It was not related to the value of the delta scale.
Moreover we set upper limit of the delta scale since only values from 0 to 1 make sense in the formulaes under the hood. You could still set higher values with max script, but you should expect (undesirable) artefacts.

Perfect!! If it create artifacts i do not need to go above the limit that you set. With the delta scale to one no problem as before.
                            Thanks for your quick reply
