  • Rendering not using all cores

    hey guys,

I've got a scene that I'm trying to render and I cannot for the life of me work out why it isn't utilising the CPU fully. I've sat here and waited 30 minutes for a light cache to finish, and even when it's set to brute force/brute force, with displacement disabled it still won't use all CPU cores.

I do have several evermotion cars that (incredibly annoyingly) still use the shellac material. Could this be causing it, or is it likely to be something else? The scene doesn't use all available memory either.

    Cache nothing. Brute force everything.

[edit] Found the culprit. The default dynamic memory limit is 4000mb.

Could the default not be set to 0?

Yes, it might be a good idea to set it to 0 nowadays... will think about it.
