  • Denoiser erase the rest of the frame when doing render region

    When doing a render region over a preceding render, the denoiser erase to black the rest of the frame instead of keeping it like all other elements do. Would it be possible to change that behaviour please?

        I think you can just uncheck "region render" from frame buffer and hit update, as all the other elements there for denoiser to do its job ?! I need to try that later, But for sure fixing it in the first place would be better s

            I would also like to request that DeNoiser respect the region render and retain the prior contents of the VFB. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

                  A year and a half later and this hasn't been fixed yet? Wow.

                    Actually this should be fine since a long time. If you still have issues, can you describe what you are doing?

                    Best regards,

                      * Render a scene into the VFB
                      * Nice
                      * Render just a region of it
                      * Only the region renews.
                      * Nice
                      -- Load a denoiser render element
                      * Render the scene again
                      * Nice
                      * Render just a region of it
                      * All but the region turns black while the region renews.
                      * Not nice.

                      I am using VRay 3.60.04 on Max 2016

                      Thanks.

                        Actually I see it's fixed in the beta of Vray 4. The image outside of region renders no longer turns black if the denoiser is used. Thanks for fixing this. It was a bit of a pain for every region render to turn off the region, go back in RE, click on Update and then wait once more for the image to be denoised.

                          The original issue is not quite fixed and I'm scratching my head what to do about it; it works fine if you run the denoiser with the "mode" option set to "Show denoiser result channel" *before* saving a .vrimg or OpenEXR file, but the default value is different and causes the issue.

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado
