  • Out of memory error when using VrayClipper

I've got a scene where I need to make cuts in the slatted ceiling where the spotlights are. I chose to do this with VrayClipper since I can modify the slatted ceiling without being concerned with manually cutting out these parts each time a change is made to the ceiling. However, whenever I turn on the VrayClipper object, I get an out of memory error. Max get's to 4 GB RAM usage when the error appears. My PC has 32 GB RAM installed of which about 17 GB is free at the time of rendering and I've also set Vray to use all memory by typing "0" in "Dynamic Memory Limit".

What could the problem be? You can find my PC specs in my signature.
Here's also a screenshot of the error when it happens along with the RAM usage:

    Hello,

This is very strange. The clipper itself doesn't generate geometry or any special data structures that take lots of memory. Also the message doesn't seem familiar. Do you have any additional plugins that might be generating this message ?

Another thing - can you test a simple scene with a clipper in it?

If the problem happens only in this scene - can you share (parts of) it?

    Best regards,
    Yavor

No plugins are installed on Max except for Vray. I will make another test and send the scene if I don't find the culprit.

Maybe this error message is from standard 3ds max raytrace map / material?
