  • denoising causes photoshop to crash

I was doing an edit in photoshop while another render was going on in the background. Then the screen went blank and the display driver crashed and i noticed that denoiser had just started. Nvidia 970 with the latest driver.

The image i was working on was a 4k image and the render was a 4k image so perhaps ran out of ram?

Yes, low memory could be the problem. Do you have any tool to monitor the GPU memory usage ?

I've been learning about this the hard way today!

Well it just happened again and this time I was watching GPU-Z. Photoshop was open but memory was not a problem. Photoshop and Max both crashed/froze at the same time and it looks like only the GPU load was maxed, memory not even half. Have there been any updates to the denoiser since 3.50.04?

I've been having this problem as well. I have to remember not to open PS while rendering.
