  • vray light directional parameter visible light issue

    hi there,
iv run into a problem using the directional parameter and lighting maintaining their visibility.
ideally i would like them to remain visible even when the directional parameter is enabled. i want to do this to be able to use the glare pass from the light source

below is images of disc lights with 0.0, 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 directional parameters increased. is this a bug or expected behavior?
    cheers

The help pages say that this is expected behavior. I could suggest a workaround:

Create duplicates of your lights and then make their "Directional" parameter value 0.0 and disable the checkbox "Affect Diffuse". Then in your original lights disable the checkboxes "Affect Specular" and "Affect Reflections". This way you will have visible reflections and speculars since the original lights won't produce them anymore if the Directional parameter is used.

Let me know if this worked.
