Stereo Image from 6x1 Camera

Hello,

Is it possible to create a stereoscopic view from a single 6x1 cube map? Can it just be duplicated and offset in Photoshop to create a left/right map?

(create 18432x1536 file and double the 9216x1536 cubemap)

Is there a technical reason to use the Stereo Helper or would the above method be just as good?

that wont work, you have to use the stereo helper. moving it in PS wouldn't give you depth.
you dont get depth from the distance between objects, you get it from the distances changing relative to other objects in front of and behind them.
