Progressive image sampler and Matte/Shadow

Am I correct in assuming that the progressive image sampler does not work with Matte/Shadow material/objects? I get extremely noisy shadows on the matte surfaces, but I didn't read anywhere in the documentation that the progressive image sampler and matte/shadow wouldn't be compatible.

Yes, we are aware of this issue with the progressive image sampler and we found a way to improve it for the next service pack release.
