Working on a render right now and I'm having a couple problems when using Vray RT.
The first problem is that the z-depth pass is glitching out, which you can see on the left side of frame where the back of the engine meets the background. The zdepth pass there transitions to a harsh edge--not respecting the DOF blur.
The other issue is the large grainy noise that appears in the reflection pass which you can see on that big center piece of the turbine. The reflections of the blades look much noisier than everything else including the DOF noise which is smooth as butter.
I'm rendering this shot with two GTX 970s and it's been taking 1 hour per frame to hit 0.01 noise threshold. The scene is very basic besides the use of DOF and motion blur. 8 samples for the blades (they start spinning later in the shot) and default 2 for everything else. Unfortunately I can only provide this short segment since the render takes forever.
Here is the mentioned render: https://vimeo.com/184403288/4d95c2bcd3
