  • motion blur - is this right ?

I am working on a scene. The drill goes past the camera and is rotating (just the end section of the drill). Does this look right to you ?

Camera is stationary for this scene.

no it looks strange. A couple of ideas that come to mind: make sure you are not encountering euler flip. If you play animation with subframe interval does the geometry rotate correctly or flip in random direction?
if it looks right, parent a camera to drill so its moving with the geometry and render, if the drill rotates quickly, you just might need more geo samples for motion blur - like 6 or so.

I would also look at the sub-frame samples for your geometry - i.e. set the time format to frame:ticks and look in between the frames to see if the geometry is animated properly.
