I'm not sure why I was gettign that error - it's stopped now - but incidentally, what does the error 1001 mean?
I was accessing vray from my laptop over Logmein Hamachi (as I have been doing for a year) - the only thing was the server machine at the other end was doing an upload and maybe maxing out it's bandwidth.
The funny thing is, when I went to the vray settings tab in Max, it doesn't say it couldn't finm a licence - I only got it as a red code when I tried to render.
