  • VRay aerial perspective ignores transparency of far object ?

I got an cut sphere with an horizon line with transparency in my scene

Scene is lit with HDR sky + synced VRay sun

Problem : Aerial perspective makes the transparent part of the background appears like a flat surface.

Material is 2 sided. Opacity mode : stochastic

Can't give away the scene because it's confidential but problem should be easily reproduced

    I will try :

    - Opacity mode : normal

    - In object properties of the sphere, uncheck "apply athmospherics" but maybe this doesn't affect VAP ?

    I tried

    Opacity mode : normal
    +
    Uncheck "apply athmospherics"

    and it worked

but the "bug" remains, it should be nice to have a distant object with transparency affected correctly

Problem appears also with a non visible to camera VRayplane.

        Hello!

Artifacts with VRayAerialPerspective on opacity-mapped objects is actually a known issue - it's already logged in our system. Thank you for reporting this anyway.

        Best regards,
        Margarita

I wrote a message about the vray plane and then realised I already said it before

Just a small bump to know if this was corrected in VRay 3.5 ?

I still have an issue with Vrayaerialperspective and background pictures using an opacity map. I have unchecked "apply atmospherics" in the option but the entirety of the object have the atmospherics applied to. Instead of the non occluded part.
Is the issue still unsolved? or am I missing something?

                    ps:I use Vray GPU Hotfix 3 (6.00.20)

The issue is not yet fixed. I'll add your comment to the issue as a priority bump.
