VRayBlendMtl Speed and performance

Hi all,
hope you are all good.

I just had a question about the speed of the VRayBlendMtl if that's okay?

I noticed that using the V-Ray blend Material with 1 or two layers makes render times much longer....Are both Materials being calculated during the render and then masked? ~ If so will there be and kind of improvement where a VRayBlendMtl will render just as fast as a single material?

it will only be longer if you are using shellac mode where both materials are reflective, so its calculating the reflections twice.
