  • Animated FOV not rendering correctly

The animated FOV works in the viewport but not on the render. Is this a bug ? I've had this issue previously on other projects.

Are you using the 3ds Max 2016 Physical Camera?

    Best regards,

I had this several times with the physical cam. (I like dolly zooms) I figured animated focal length instead works generally better.
Also turning lens breath to 0 if rendering animations with a moving physical camera fixed some bugs for me.
Putting a keyframe on every frame might help too. Especially if you render on more than one computer.
Its not really a good choise for animation.
Better go back to the vray cam.
Loosing hours and hours of rendertime because the computers only rendered a bunch of useless waste isn't good for the blood pressure.
German guy, sorry for my English.

Luckily I have a small render farm so I can test these things prior to rendering the final version. I'm not using exposure so I may just go to the max standard camera and link it to the existing camera. Hopefully the max standard cam should be fine.
