  • Denoiser Overdrive with REFRACT

    Hi all

I can never seem to get the denoiser working nicely with with Refraction.
Here's a comparison everything at default: On the left is RGB, on the right Denoiser
Glass is default settings, diffuse black, reflect white, refract 240. The edges is different material with green Fog. Depth 7

I could try setting glass affect all channels and see if the denoiser don't get confused, but that presents a different issue where refract becomes brighter

If we leave aside the brighter refraction is the denoised result with Affect All Channels better than Color Only setup?
Would it be possible to attach that scene so we can use it as a source for improvement request?

Thank you very much in advance.

In my latest scene on 3.5, the refraction seems fine with ALL CHANNELS and not just color only. Have 2 current projects where I'll test it some more and let you know, but so far looks good. Althnough, would be nice if it could work on refraction set to COLOR only
        Kind Regards,

Yes, we'll try to find out why it doesn't work that well with Color only mode.
Is there a chance to send us the test scene since I couldn't replicate that behavior?

I'm experimenting the same issue. Its anoying.... I think denoiser works fine in version 3.4 in this cases and in 3.5 its worst... Why?

Could try adding dof...might hide the problem a bit until it is fixed?
