  • Resumable render ?

I needed to paus the render while doing other work and tried saving it as a vrayim. file. I ticked the " resumable rendering" box and rendered. The render started from beginning ?? Do I need to save the render as a vrayimg file from start ? or how does it work ?

    Hello!

Yes, you need to have the Resumable rendering option enabled before your first render and you need to specify the output files in Render Setup.
Next thing you should know is that when you use the Bucket image sampler then resumable rendering will only work with vrimg output files (it's V-Ray 3.50.01 specific). Resumable rendering with Progressive image sampler doesn't have this limitation. Any file type will work with it and it will also create a vrprog file that serves the needs for resuming the rendering afterwards.
You can find some more info about this in our help page: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...uffer+Settings

    Best regards,
