  • "Invalid normal index on face" error, Max freezes

I'm getting an error when I render a model I downloaded from the internet. As soon as I hit render, this message pops-up in the log window: "Invalid normal index on face" and Max freezes immediately. The model has Max hair and fur on it. It also renders fine with Corona (the model was made originally with corona materials but I replaced them all.

It's irrelevant what engine the model was created for. Can you send that model to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can check what's wrong with it? Also, if you save the file and reload it, do you continue getting the same error?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Email sent! I tried merging in a clean scene, resetting Xform and attaching to a box primitive but it didn't seem to work. It must be something with the hair.
