  • IES - weird speculars

    Hello,

I'm facing a problem with speculars generated by IES lights on a black wall.

I've tried several things about specular settings, material cutoff and light cutoff, nothing changes. Obviously, nothing's left if I uncheck Specular in the IES settings, in the low res tests I made. Do you think it can be due to some crappy IES profile ? for now, I'll fix that in Photoshop since I have to deliver the images ASAP, but I 'd be curious to know if you guys have already seen that

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards.

try to lower the cutoff value in the Vray IES light options.

EDIT: Sorry..you've already tried... I haven't read your post very well..

EDIT2: in the past when I faced these problems I solved lowering the cutoff (light or material).

If you wanto check the IES file you should use the IES viewer and look at the IES curve in the diagram...if you have a stepped line in the first angles...probably it's the IES file..

      Hi Bardo,

Thanks, but yes, I've tried everything I could think about with cutoffs ...
I'll try your suggestion with IES viewer - thanks.
