  • Texture Baking broken (v 3.40.03)

    Hello Support,

excuse me if i have missed similar topic, but as much as i searched i could not find this bug report. On the other hand, i can not imagine nobody has noticed that texture baking in last few Vray Versions is broken. I hope i have overseen something

As first: Vray 3.40.03 version, Win 10 and the generic computer setup, noting unusual.

Here is the most simple scene setup in Vray that can exist: a teapot, generic vrayadvmat and 1 VrayLight with cast shadow options on. GI is even off.

After using standard max-render-to-texture, we get this mess: (as you can see, the topology is pixel-noise)

While experimenting, i have found out that if you turn off "Embree support", the render-to-texture starts looking ok.

Is it possible to fix this Embree-Error, because it is on one side ugly, and on the other side we have to struggle here with FlatIron plugin code to get it work after your last internal embree changes.

I would be very thankful for any kind of feedback or explanation how to get it working
    thanks
    best regards

For what it's worth, I use the baker with embree on and don't get these issues, so maybe there's a conflict with Flatiron?

Ha, hey Igor! I'm a huge fan of UV-Packer. I'm not able to open your max file (I'm on max 2015), but baking works fine for me with vray. I use the Render to Texture baker.

        Hi Igor,

Are you sure you are using 3.40.03 ? The thing you are showing is a known issue we had with max 2017, but it was fixed and should be ok in 3.40.03 (I've just tested it).
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Has anyone had success with Flatiron and DR? I can only seem to get the host computer to render properly.

            Hello Peter,
now it seems i have fixed it. I don't know why this exactly happened, but after i have uninstalled Corona Trial, Texture Baking works.
thanks a lot for the great Support
            best regards
