  • VrayLight - directional parameter bug

Hi. With directional parameter higher then 0,6 light starts to be invisible.
Attached images are for directional parameter 0,1 and 0,75.
    Best regards,

Technically it's not a bug, but it is a behavior that's unwanted by most users, so we will have to do something about it...

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Thanks Vlado. Can you help me to solve this problem somehow?
I need those lights to be visible in order to get nice bloom and glare in postpro
as well as correct reflections on surfaces.
      Thank you.

Just make these directional ones invisible and make some 'fakes' something like planes with self illumination or simple non-directional visible lights with affect diffuse/specular/reflection turned off.

Thank you for your tip Viscorbel, unfortunately this doesn`t work for me.
See attached images. First one is lit with visible vraylights with directional parameter set to 0.
The second one has all vraylights set to invisible with only affect diffuse enabled and with desired
          directional parameters set.
Affect specular and reflections are disabled.
There are rectangles with self ilumination set to 50 with GI parameter disabled.
You can see how extremely noisy reflections are and how noisy all image is.
With higher self ilumination values there is even more noise.

OK. Here is image with two sets of vraylights. First set is invisible with directional parameter
and with affect diffuse enabled. Second set is visible with 0 directional parameter and with
affect specular and affect reflections enabled.
I believe that such advanced renderer as Vray have more effective way to do this.
One more thing - look at strange reflection behaviour on wardrobe.
