  • HDRI does not archive maps

I'm using VRay 3.5 and when I have to Archive a file with all the maps, it seems like the maps that I have added through VRay HDRI do not get exported/archived. The ones that I do through the normal 3DS Max bitmap manager do get exported/archived. Has anyone else run into this?

    Thanks!

Do you see the maps in the 3ds Max Asset Tracker?

    Best regards,

      Hey Vlado,
Yes I do. This one is odd. I work with the VFX department, I do all of the prepping of the scenes and do all the stills while the VFX does the animation. So when I send them files all the maps that belong in the VRay HDRI are missing and I have to go one by one and find them on my server and send it to them. Hope that's enough data to recreate the problem.

Can you take a screenshot of the Asset Tracker window?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Suggestion: I think it works when you put the HDRI maps in the material editor and then use the Archive function.

That's odd as it should be archived in any case... it would be helpful if we can get some steps or a scene where we can reproduce this.

            Best regards,
            Vlado

OK, I just did a test and it works as intended.
Interesting, I remember this issue from a long time ago, perhaps even VRay 1.5. Anyway, works without problems in MAX2012 and MAX2016, VRay3.4.

OK then, I'll give it another try and hope it works. I'll let you know if I run into a problem again and I'll document it in full and send it along if I run into anything.
