  • Vray 3.5 Beta - Materials in mat editor don't show up correctly

I don't know how it happened but I started a new scene and when I switched the renderer from Scanline to Vray all Vray materials were still showing as if they are unsupported by the currently active renderer. I closed Max and started a new scenes and then everything was fine. Luckily I saved the "broken" scene + screenshot for inspection (please see below). Even if I load the broken scene after a fresh start of Max where Vray materials show correctly, loading that scene makes the materials display wrong again.

You have Scanline for rendering the material editor swatches. Usually that one is locked to the production renderer.

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Hmm.. that's interesting. I never did that. In fact, I didn't know this option even existed. Thanks, I will know where to look in the future.
