  • Vray 3.5 Beta - Environment effects not rendering with IPR

Environment effects like Aerial Perspective and Toon don't seem to be rendered with IPR. Is this to be expected with IPR?

It will be implemented a little later in 3.6; it's a little more difficult to make it crash-free.

Would it be possible to make a compromise of rendering these in IPR, but ignoring interactive updates? In other words, it would get translated on initial render start, but would not react to any changes? I think here, it's better trade-off to have some obscure thing non reacting to IPR changes rather than not rendering it at all, breaking WYSIWYG workflow that the IPR is all about.

Maybe, it would be good to simply print a warning every time a notification caused by user touching atmospheric effect setting is intercepted.

Also, I always thought this only applies to 3ds Max's native atmospheric effects, which are a black box. Those made from scratch by ChaosGroup should be all fine, or not?

There is still a little bit of time until the final release; I'll see if I can come up with something.
