  • Exposure all over the place

This is a temperamental problem - most of the time everything is fine, but it occasionally comes up on a project.

I always use the physical camera with exposure gain set to manual. I don't modify exposure settings in environment and effects. Sometimes the render in the frame buffer can jump to a darker or brighter setting - sometimes after it has completed, and sometimes when I'm re rendering a small area of the image. You can see the issue in the attached, when re-rendering the center region the rest of the image switched to a lower exposure.

Are you using the lens effects in Vray by any chance?

Yes - glare is on, think that could be a factor? If so perhaps the new implementation will solve the issue?

I had a similar case yesterday, the glare caused my image to be completely darkened after reloading an older render in the VFB.
        A.

Yes, this problem comes from the use of lens effects. It's supposed to be fixed in Vray 3.5 Beta 2.

Ah - good news then! I'm in the middle of rendering an animation so haven't been able to upgrade to the newer versions yet, still on 3.4.
