IES lamps

Hey folks!

I need some tips and ideás regarding an issues we have with IES lamps, and DR rendering.

We have been doing a big job, with a lot of scenes using IES lamps, and are getting some strange output from our rendering farm. The hard part here is that we cannot see any consistency in the error. Some time the rendering works fine, and sometime the output comes as the attached pictures.

Have anyone seen this before? and know any WO except not using IES lamps at all

Forgot to add what versions we are using

The base scenes are created in 3dsmax 2014 with vray 3.40.02

The renderfarm us using vray 3.10.02

use DRBucket render element to pinpoint problematic nodes.

looks like some nodes are not getting IES file.

there you go. install new VRay on nodes first.

In normal case we use DR buckets, in this case it was missed in the base scene.

render a frame without the file in light and see if it looks like your dark buckets.

you can also check VRayLog.txt file on nodes for warnings and errors.

but first make sure only nodes with same VRay version are involved in DR.

Besides the recommandations made previously, you can also ensure your assets are defined with UNC paths instead of mapped drives - that solved several strange issues for us a few years ago.
