  • Fog within Gizmo only works with RT

    Hi
I have a strange problem, which I don't think I've had before. When using VrayEnvironmentFog for volume lighting effects, it only works with normal rendering without a gizmo. With Vray RT it works both with and without.
Here's a test, left image is with RT, right image is with standard Vray render, no fog! Is there some small knob that must be turned on when rendering?

Works fine here. Can you share that scene from the screenshots? Also, which 3ds Max & V-Ray versions are you using?

        Here's the scene. I'm using 3DS max 2016 (version 18,0 SP4) with Vray 3.40.03

if I render with RT it works, not with 'normal' Vray

Looks like the problem is the negative height value of the box gizmo - it messes up with environment fog. Change it to a positive value and everything should work fine.

Yes, now it works - it was the negative height of the box. Strange that it didn't affect RT.
            I'm glad you nailed it

We've made a note about this discrepancy between RT Cpu and Adv.
Anyway, glad we could help you out.
