  • Refraction glossiness in separate render

In a project for a configurator I render all objects separately via the rendermask. Now I need to render an object (a showerwall) that also includes a glass material with refraction glossiness set to 0.75. How do I keep the "blur" in the glass when the image is placed in front of another image? The wall behind the glass can be changed in the configurator. Colors, tilesizes etc.

I assume this isn't doable but I'm happy for all tips and tricks.
Do I have to render one version of every possible setup of choices? Different tilesizes, different colors of the tiles, different showermixers etc.

You'd have to do the blur as a 2d fake if you wanted to be able to change the contents behind it in post or as you say, render a tonne of variations. Talk to Dave wortley about this since he does a tonne of car configurators, you could have a look at this plugin which could automate a lot of it for you too - http://boomerlabs.com/Vexus

Thanks joconnell! That's what I feared...
      Vexus looks interesting though.
