  • 3.5 Beta 2 Crashes Max when rendering

I just installed the second beta version and I can't render anymore. I think it boils down to a license issue because sometimes max says it can't find the license and when I put down a vray material max freezes for good 1-2minutes until it responds again.
Trying to render just seems to crash max.

When I open the localhost:30304 It tells me there is an update available 4.3.0 (release date 12/22/2016) but I can't seem to download it. (Current License Server 4.2.0)
Beta 1 worked without a problem so I wonder if anything got changed in regards to licensing.

    *edit*

After rebooting vray finds my license when I check the render setup but it still crashes when I try to render anything and still hangs when I place down a material in the slate editor. When max resumes working the mat icon displays a watermark.

License server shows: License: 1 Engaged: 1 (Dongle)

Oh an since I forgot to mention it: Using Max 2017 (windows 7)

    Hi,

If there is no license V-Ray will automatically fallback to trail/demo mode. This is the reason why it shows the logo in Mat editor. However, this is very odd that it behaves like official build when license is not found.
Have you tried to reinstall beta 1 ? Does it work ?
