  • Stuck Bucket

Literally, stuck on one bucket for 2 hours. The scene was rendered, other than that last bucket, in 1/2 an hour. I haven't seen this in a long time. I am running 3.4 Beta 2 on MAX 2017.

It seems to me that the problem is coming from that very bright light source which gives the sampler hard time. I would stop the render, make the buckets size 4-6 times smaller and do a region render around that stuck bucket. This way you'll have more than 1 CPU thread working on it, now all your 71 threads sit idle.

That was my first thought, however, then my PSD Manager wouldn't engage. It eventually finished, but it took 3 hours

psd-manager 4 has a new trick so you can use the Render Progress dialog Stop button in 3ds Max 2017. (Note: psd-manager needs to be the first render effect in the list if you use a V-ray version older then 3.50 Beta 2).
