  • Store all Passes in a EXR?

    Hy!

Can somebody explain the correct workflow to store multiple passes in one file?
I tried to store multiple passe in one exr....i don't get it...maybe i've done something wrong....
I have to do a big amount of images which i have to compose in ps later....

    Thanks in advance!

In V-Ray settings > Frame Buffer : Enable built-in frame buffer and check "V-Ray raw image file". Then when you set the file name you have the choice to save as vrimg or exr.
You can also save an exr directly from the V-Ray frame buffer : click and hold the save icon and scroll to the last one : "save all image channels to a single file"

But Photoshop can't read exr layers without plugins.
      http://www.exr-io.com/ for example.
German guy, sorry for my English.

Sorry for being off topic but are you using the version for Mac or Windows? If the latter, how stable is it, is it bug free and how do you like it compared to PS? I'm asking because I'm waiting for month and a half now for a trial version to be released but there is still none to be found. It's strange because they already sell the version for Windows but in their forums as an answer to the question "when is the Windows trial available" they posted "We are in the process of testing them [the trials] now so they should be available within a few weeks". Why do you need to test the trials for? I'm not a software developer but what's there to test in a trial version? You should have a trial available as soon as you launch the product, not 2-3 months from launch. I don't get it?

Yeah I'd be v interested to hear the response to this.

There was a demo version but I believe it expired when it was release, so perhaps they're doing a new demo? Who knows...

Not sure on the trial, but I jumped on the BETA and soon after purchased a license. Bug free? Serious? No app is bug free. That being said I love Affinity and it's FULL 32 BIT features that is lacking in PS. The masks works a bit differently than in PS and it takes a while to get use to it, overall I'm pretty impressed with what they've done with the Windows version so far. (I'm on the Windows version)
It reads EXR 32bit with layers, without the need for a plugin and all features you have in 8bit, also work in 32bit and more
                  Kind Regards,
                  Morne

Yes, serious. PS for me is pretty much bug free. I can't remember the last time it crashed or I encountered a bug. I think it crashed only 2-3 times last year. Did you have any crashes with Affinity so far? I saw on their forum some users complaining of instability and crashes so that's why I'm asking if it's really the case. Crashes are my main concern along with the maturity of the feature set. Thanks in advance.
