  • IPR and Vray Frame Buffer Resizing

Did some behaviour change in the latest nightlies in regards to resizing the Vray Frame Buffer and IPR? It seems to be behaving differently.. resizing the actual render resolution?

Yep. The IPR will resize the render to fit into the VFB window. The reason being that most of the time, the production rendering resolution is quite high and using it for IPR slows it down. There was another thread where people complained that they constantly had to manually switch resolutions for IPR and final renders.

I can see the reasoning, is it a functionality that could maybe be turned on or off?

Personally I find myself frequently moving/resizing the VFB whilst I work, due to limited screen space and the multitude of menus/rollouts etc that can be open. Having the IPR reset everytime I do so feels counterproductive...

That was mostly me, who requested IPR resolution to be derived from VFB size. Your particular problem is caused by different issue - inability of rendering IPR inside of viewport. If you do IPR in a floating window instead of viewport, there will be always something important you need to use that VFB window is currently on top of

Are there plans at the moment to have IPR run in a viewport? This would make things so much smoother!
