  • 3.5 nightly - drawing render region prompts IPR refresh when no changes in scene

I'm testing the nightly from a couple of days ago and noticed a bit of a problem that I haven't found a solution for. Every time I draw a render region, Vray prompts IPR refresh even though no changes were made in the scene. Is this necessary and is there a reason for this that I'm not aware of?

    Thanks in advance!

V-Ray follows and updates the render region in the VFB, which you requested as far as I remember. I'm not sure how it would do this without refreshing anything? Or you mean that you want it to behave more similar to the V-Ray RT render region?

Yes, exactly! Sorry if I wasn't clear. At the moment the region is rendered from scratch in areas that have already been rendered even though there is no change in the scene. In Corona if you draw a region, IPR just continues to refine the result instead of starting from scratch. I hope you understand what I mean. It doesn't make a lot of sense to start from scratch if there's no change in scene.

Ok, I see. I will probably get to it a bit later though.
